How to Prepare Your Home
First impressions are everything! Follow these steps to make your home shine in your photos…
Inside

Make the beds.

Hide the trash cans.

Hide personal photos.

Put all the toilet seats and lids down.

Remove any decorations or magnets that are on the fridge.

Remove/Hide any pet beds, water/food bowels, toys, etc.

Clean and empty, as much as possible, all the counter tops in bathrooms and kitchen.

Remove any “clutter” inside the home, and put away toys, clothing, dishes, towels, etc.

Replace any burnt out lightbulbs (lamps and ceilings) and keep all lighting the same type of bulb (not a mix of fluorescent and incandescent).

Put pets in a safe place or take them out of the home for the session.
Exterior

Mow the lawn, rake leaves, trim bushes.

When in season, flowers can add a gorgeous pop of color.

Remove all vehicles from the driveway and front of the house.

Make sure all garbage cans, hoses, garden tools etc. are put away.
-
When necessary, shovel snow from walkways, driveways, patios, decks.
-
If there is a pool, take the security gate down, uncover, and clean.

If you are having twilight photos taken, check that all exterior lights are working.
